Reading Response #2 Paper #2

"Board of Online Universities Accreditation." Board of Online Universities Accreditation. 2003. 17 Apr. 2007 .

Summary: This website is about the accreditation of online universities. It talks about the goals of the committees. It also answers questions about the different ways to know if an online university is accredited and why universities are accredited. It also talks about the different committees that they provide and the meaning of accreditation. They also talk about the different programs that they provide this for whether it’s a program for a few weeks or a four year institution.

Importance: This is very important to understand for my paper since I want to discuss accreditation of online universities. It shows the reasons for becoming accredited and the people that give them this.

Connections: The way this is connected with my life is the university I go to needs to have this accreditation.

Supporting Source: This source really supports my paper because it talks about the things that online universities need to get accreditation for being a real university and having the ability to teach people

Argumentative Source: If there was anything that I would disagree with it would have to be it needed some different information about online universities and telling people why they should use online universities vs. campus universities.

Embry, Bob. "Who Uses Online Learning?" World Wide Learn. 2003. 17 Apr. 2007 .

Summary: This article is about the different age groups that take part in the online
Universities. They say that the age group that mostly does the online learning
are usually the people at the age of 50 and over. Also they say that women are
most likely to take part in online class discussions.
Importance: This article becomes very important in my paper because it talks about the
age groups that this appeals to. It gives me the statistics to use to support my arguments.
Connections: This doesn’t have many connections with my life. I know that the only
Thing that this connects with me is the fact that I’m in college and the
experience I’m having with being in school instead of online.

Supporting Source: This is going to support when I talk about the different age goups.

Argumentative Source: I would say that this article didn’t have enough facts. I think the
They could have added a lot more.

Almost over

I'm so excited that school is almost out!! I can't wait to go home and be able to stay!! I hate just going home for a couple of days and then have to leave. I haven't been home in three weeks and that is the longest I have been away from home!! I'm so excited about going home for easter. A break FINALLY!!

Paper Problems!!

I'm having a little trouble finding soucres. Its not as easy as I thought it would be. There are a few articles on Theft and fraud but not as many as I thought there would be. The biggest problem for me is length. I'm hoping that I can get enough information to be able to make my paper at least 6 pages. I didn't think that writing 6 pages would be so difficult especially on this subject!!

"Statistics: E-Business Trends." Shop. 4 Apr. 2007
http://www.shop.org/learn/stats_ebizz_security.asp.

Summary: This article is a statistis site. It tells different facts from different companies. It was like everyone took surveys and interviews and put it onto one site. There were facts about everything from numbers to what people thought. I found the numbers to be very interesting in some of the different things that were asked.

Importance: This is important because it actually shows you facts in numbers and you can see how many people are really affected.

Connections: This doesn't really have any connection with my life except for the fact that it is educating me on something that could possibly happen to me!

Supporting Source: This really helps my argument strong because it isn't just opinions its actually numbers and facts from these different places.

Argumentive Source: The only thing I would have to argue would be maybe there was errors in the surveys or experiments. The numbers might be off!

Bloch, Michael. "Credit Card Identity Theft-Online." Taming the Beast. 4 Apr. 2007
http://www.tamingthebeast.net/articles/creditcardfraudidentitytheft.htm.
Summary: This article is about the different effects that credit card fraud and Identity Theft have on people. It also talks about how people don't try to prevent these things from happening to them. He gives guidelines that people need to follow when buying things of the internet or entering information. Thats what the whole article is about basically.

Importance: This is important because it affects a lot of people. There are so many people who aren't educated on this subject and they happen to be the victims.

Connections: This is connected to many college students, this hasn't personally happened to me but it could.

Suppotring Source: This article supports my paper because of the different elements that are in this article. Everything in this article I plan to discuss in my paper!

Argumentative Source: If I had to argue anything would be that I don't agree with some of the guidelines he gave. I just think that those aren't necessarily going to help the ways he thinks they will!
